Edible Lush Products

Have you ever been in a Lush Cosmetics store and thought, "Wow, this looks amazing, it looks like you could eat it." But you can't, UNTIL NOW. Presenting, Magic of Christmas Wands- the edible version. Learn how to make vegan gingerbread and with the help of a cinnamon stick and some ribbon, re-create this Christmas favourite.

Ingredients:

280g Plain flour (plus 100g extra just in case)

1tbsp ground Ginger

1 tsp cinnamon

170g Brown Sugar

180g Vegan Butter

85g Golden Syrup

1/2 tsp bicarb of Soda

---

200g Ground almonds

100g icing sugar

40g chick pea water

1/2 tsp almond extract

1 tsp cinnamon

---

40g dark vegan chocolate

edible lustre/glitter

12x cinnamon sticks

some ribbons and bells

Method

Combine the flour, Ginger, cinnamon, brown sugar, vegan butter golden syrup and Bicarb of Soda into a bowl and mix together with your hands. If it is too sticky, feel free to use more flour to make it less so.

Roll out flat around 3mm thick and using a star cookie cutter, cut out an even amount of stars (each wand has 2 stars). Place them on baking trays and leave to chill in the fridge for 30mins to 1 hour. This will stop them from spreading too much while in the oven.

While they are chilling take 200g of ground almonds, add into this 100g of icing sugar, 40g of chick pea water, 1/2 tsp almond extract and knead with your hands. Add in 1 tsp of cinnamon and knead again. This will be your filling for your wands and be what you insert the cinnamon stick into.

Take the gingerbread out of the fridge and place into the oven for 8-10 minutes until crispy round the edges. Leave to cool slightly on the trays, then fully on a wire rack.

Once cooled, take a small ball of the almond paste and insert a cinnamon stick. Using edible glue, paint the centre of 2 stars and stick the almond paste/cinnamon stick lollipop on.

Melt some dark chocolate and draw a star on one side of the wand in the centre to represent the star anise from the Lush Magic of Christmas Wands. Take some ribbon and a bell and tie onto the cinnamon stick, sprinkle on some edible glitter and TA DA! Gingerbread Star Wands that are the edible versions of the Magic of Christmas Wands from Lush Cosmetics.
